Dead Sea Minerals

Dead Sea, though the name sounds strange, remains the origin and storehouse of abundant minerals which are rarely found in other parts of the world. Since historical period, Dead Sea is recognized as a source of cosmetics, medicine and other health care products.
The Dead Sea contains very high concentration of salts and minerals and the content is increasing yearly. The salt content in this sea is ten times more than the Mediterranean Sea. It contains twenty one mineral salts out of which twelve of them are found nowhere in the world. Each mineral salt has its own effect on the human body. Some of them are,
Bromide:
The concentration of bromide in Dead Sea is very high with 50% more than the other salts. It provides relaxation to the body and mind. It soothes and tranquilizes the nervous system.
Bitumen:
Bitumen is found in small quantities and acts as a natural tar. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory agent.
Magnesium:
The concentration of magnesium found in the Dead Sea is very high when compared to the other seas. It is used in skin care products since it is a natural toner, allergy remover and retains moisture in the skin. It helps to increase the metabolism of cells. It helps in the treatment of psoriasis as it removes the scales and ripening of the skin. Also it helps in reducing the pigmentation in the skin.
Potassium:

Sodium:
